Every day is a god, and its holiness unfolds through the years. And we wake in a god. In arms holding fabrics and quilts ever weaving us inside the dress of ocean’s time. We wake in a kiss. Because we are already kissed. Because the one kissing is the one kissed is the kiss itself. Every day is a god, and its holiness unfolds through the years.

In the language of saints, sages and mystics, in both Eastern and Western spiritual beliefs, the soul is often described as feminine – tender, receptive, open, trusting, surrendering, and offering itself to the Beloved, which depending on belief or religion may be referred to as God, Christ, the divine, the great creator etc. Across sacred writings we find that the path of the seeker is often portrayed through the feminine voice, because the soul itself stands before God in humbleness, and surrendering in love as prayer and deep trust.

In Sufism we find this throughout the writings and poetry, and in Christianity too we see the beautiful Song of Songs, with “I am my Beloved, and my Beloved’s mine”, where the bride offers herself to her bridegroom, Christ. Essentially, whether through songs, poetry or stories, what is unveiled are the spiritual and mystical teachings of the soul’s surrender. The beloved, often portrayed as a woman, is the soul, longing, breaking and refined, until she dissolves into the will of her beloved Lord and God.

In Christiniaty, we have “thy will be done” which is essentially a call for us to surrender and trust in God’s divine timing for us, and I’ll speak of this more below, but we also see poetic story also, for example in Sufisim. For example, as Waris Shah wrote the epic of Heer Ranjha, he was not merely telling a tragic tale of lovers separated by society; he was unveiling the path of the soul and the essence, the feminine and the masculine, yearning for their union beyond the worldly barriers. Heer’s surrender, her wounds, her endurance, and her eventual alignment with love essentially mirror the soul’s submission or surrender to God.

In our modern world, we often face the challenges of materialism, ego, and worldly attachments, which disturb our inner alignment of union. This may make people feel lost, restless, and they may even describe their soul being fragmented or wounded. So often times, the healing balm becomes the mystical poetry, the remembering of surrender, and truly, falling into the grace of deep knowing that thy will be done.

The remembering of surrender, which is the remembering of this softer feminine aspect of ourself is essentially about a certain kind of posture before the divine. A posture of humbleness, of compassion, of softness, receptivity, opening of palms. To come into this posture, or embrace it, means to let go of our need to control everything thinking we are the center of the universe, to let go of our anxieties for the future, of our perfectionisms, of our false identities and ego driven desires, of our arrogance and selfishness and entitlements, and become clay in the hands of God or the Beloved. Only in surrender can our soul be fully embraced by his love.

Thy will be done

Thy will be done is essentially a prayerful expression of submitting to God’s divine plan, acknowledging His sovereignty, and trusting that His ways are better than our own, asking for His desires to be fulfilled on earth as they are in Heaven, like in the Lord’s Prayer. It’s about surrendering personal control, seeking alignment with divine purpose, and trusting God’s wisdom even when circumstances are difficult.

Surrender isn’t weakness, it isn’t passivity, it is wisdom, it is trust – and it is reverence towards the divine Beloved, towards divine timing. Surrender invites us to surrender our attachments to control, our selfishness and greed, our extreme ego based desires and compulsions, and recognize we are not in the center of the universe.

This is the end of ego based so-called “manifestations”, and understanding that what we are needing to manifest is God’s will on earth rather than self centered or survival driven or ego driven “things”. So it’s about trusting the universe, trusting yourself and trusting life itself and God, and trusting the flow of your life that your needs will be taken care of.

Surrender invites us into wisdom and into patience of rhythm. We don’t push seeds into the frozen ground in winter, for flowers will not bloom; we’ll only hurt them, and we’ll frustrate ourselves. It’s just not time yet. These are the wisdom of cycles, of the land, of the flow of river and sky.

Some times will call us towards pause, others times will call us forth. Sacred stillness, sacred unfolding. Rest is needed and purposeful, as because this is when the current gathers its strength, and where perhaps others can find you upon the shore. No path is ever walked alone, so it’s not just about our own walking, it is also about the waiting, allowing, receiving.

In our rest and sacred stillness moment, it may be a beacon – for others to find it. Those meant to walk beside you will arrive, drawn by your mere presence and the light you radiate. The path is not only made by your steps only, it is also revealed by all those who join you when you pause.

The timing of their arrival is like the rain though – you cannot command the clouds, but you may nourish and prepare the soil. They will come when the path is ready, not just ready for you but ready for them also, and you together.

Surely sometimes these waiting phases feel like hunger. So we have to learn to hold both hunger and faith in our hand; because hunger itself holds faith. It is precisely in our moments of hunger that we often learn to deepen in trust and faith, and in surrender. It holds mystical secrets also, because it reminds us that even when we are ready to move forth, perhaps it’s not the right time yet, because not everything is about us.

Hunger without faith is restless; but hunger with faith is holy longing. It is the Sufi poems. It is the soul’s surrender – the maiden surrendering to her beloved, to her bridegroom, to be in his love, to be the clay in his divine hands.

Divine timing invites us into this – because it reminds us that even when we can’t see it, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Behind the scenes all is orchestrated – the allies, the people, the situations, the encounters and beloved companions, the openings.

And tempted by water, tempted by air, like the seeds that have growing beneath the ground, in time they will reach their hands through the soil for merging; and we will see the flowers in their visible shape.

In the times when we are asked to hold hunger and faith are the times of deepening, and so we deepen. Hunger pulls you forward, trust roots you downward. Together, they keep you steady, holding both earth and heaven.

This is when we come into the truth of the saints and sages: that we lean into this trust, we find that strength and surrender are not opposite, they are one. Surrender pulls us into strength, because we need strength to surrender, and strength itself exists because we have surrendered.

Healthy spirituality

There are unfortunately a lot of toxic and unhealthy spiritual concepts nowadays, and I can’t get into this too deeply, especially not in a public space because I don’t want certain knowledge to end up in the wrong hands that will use it for more harm on vulnerable people, but basically, a lot of new age manifestation techniques are essentially spell work. They also serve to deepen you eventually into more self doubt, self blame and guilt for not being able to “manifest things”, and keep you in these perpetual cycles of self blame and guilt and disempowerment.

Additionally, it creates deeper subconscious layers of self doubt, because if you learn to rely on external methods to raise your consciousness, in whatever shape or form, or get something done, you are essentially telling yourself you don’t have that capacity within you anyway.

There is also commodification of people’s vulnerabilities. Let me tell you right now straight up, no, you will not manifest your soulmate in thirty days. And just check back five years from now whether those who sold you this are still with their darling beloved. It’s very easy for rich people to tell you about manifesting wealth, and preach to you about self development. But self development itself is a priviledge. Because the single mother who needs to work five jobs doesn’t have much time, and that’s not something she should feel ashamed about.

And no, not everyone will be able to manifest rich lifestyles because they don’t have a rich partner or family to support them. And no, the person who watched a few youtube videos is not an astrologer, and the tik toker is not your guru neither. Finding the right guide is actually a gift, and it’s your spiritual initiation towards discernment, because not everyone will be able to discern true from false and be able to perceive truth. So it’s not easy to find, but I can assure you it’s probably not sparkling around with loud voices gathering followers on a platform, where money is made with your clicks.

Discernment is your greatest spiritual power, and I’ve always said this – there’s nothing more powerful than this. And I’ve observed how more and more difficult it’s become for people to discern the genuine from the false. Please be mindful and learn to discern.

More and more confusion enters the collective consciousness, because this is how you create instability; and in the same way as “divine and conquer” works, “confuse and disempower” works. Once people lose stability in their inner self and connection to deeper faith, and mainly, when their nervous system destabilizes, this becomes very unhealthy and will inevitably lead you down the rabbit hole.

The most important thing moving forward in our times is to stabilize your nervous system. Listen to your body, and learn to listen to your body, and learn to understand what it is telling you and then honour this. It’s also about deepening in trust. Moving forward it is no longer about “manifesting” material things, it is about following your calling and mission.

It’s about moving into the full trust that your needs will be taken care of, and really bodily knowing that and coming into this balanced body system. Your body needs to believe it, and remember what it feels like to be in that “sacred surrender” energy, which as an example, perhaps you can go to some salt water pool and float. Relax your body, and as the salts hold you and lift you up, your mind too relaxes. Sometimes we live in stress for so long, that even our shoulders are constantly in some lifted or stressed state, so remind yourself throughout the day to pull them down.

Balance the nervous system and calm emotionally and bodily – and also, listen to yourself and what is aligned to you right now. Don’t worry about the future or what you think your life should be; focus on what is your body telling you right now, what is your inner true self telling you about where you need to be moving towards in your life and experiencing. Slow down. Slow down because hurry sends a message of fear to the body, and then it tenses up thinking a threat is nearby, so it goes into some defence or survival mode. The only way to listen to yourself and tune in is to slow down

Don’t burden yourself with too much information, and please do not go down the rabbit hole that your negative thoughts or having a bad day will send you on some other “timeline” and your “manifestation” will not work. This is not a sci fi movie.

There are a lot of toxic ideas and when spiritual concepts are misunderstood they become dangerous. Your priority should always be to minimize anxiety and stress, stop absorbing non sense, stop comparing yourself to non sense on social media because it just isn’t even true at all, and focus on emotional regulation, stabilizing your nervous system, consistency, and strengthening your spiritual core with true faith and trust.

Perhaps the most healing truth people need to hear is that you can’t sabotage your life with one bad thought, one bad day, one meltdown, etc. Your soul, your subconscious, your desires, your long-term direction, which are the bigger forces shaping your life, are stronger than a mood swing. Your destiny is more robust than your fear.

As human beings we are actually not that powerful as to change our higher good destiny and God’s will or our higher self. Yep, not that powerful. No worry you have, no anxiety, no bad day, no error or mistake, will take away from you what is yours. What is yours is yours. And what’s meant for you will be. No matter how many times it may even need to circle around you, it will some day, when it’s right, be in your hands. So there’s nothing to worry about. You have to build unshakeable faith in God, and strengthen your spiritual core.

As human beings we’ve always had negative thoughts, and none of us are perfect. We’ve always had moments when we changed our minds, felt inconsistent, had fear, doubted ourselves, had some good days and some awful days. And still – we fell in love, we improved our lives, opportunities opened, beauty revealed itself, kindness showed up, we found our purpose and calling. None of these were ever stopped because of negative thoughts or having a bad day. It’s only in modern new age beliefs that people are told every emotion must be monitored like a bomb diffuser.

Older spiritual teachings focus on direction, consistency, and emotional self-support, and surrendering what isn’t in your control. It’s not about micro managing, perfectionism, and fear of energetic mistakes.

True healthy deep spirituality is about trust. Trust in life’s timing, trust in your own resilience and abilities, trust in God, and trust that what’s meant for you will not miss you. It can’t miss you. Because it’s you.

So if you find yourself in some spiral such as “If I get sad, I fall into a bad timeline, if I think negatively, I cancel my manifestation, if I don’t feel high vibe 24/7, the universe punishes me,” please understand this is not true spirituality, this is fear and anxiety wrapped in mystical language.

Don’t overcomplicate your human experience and the complex nuances through which we all as human beings move through. You are not here to be perfect. Don’t fall for fear based spirituality, which essentially stresses you out about being human. Focus on what helps to guide you on your dharmic path, and grow you within to expand in your perceptions and inner healing, while also offering you compassion and grace for where you are in life.

And zoom out for a perspective. We think 60,000+ thoughts a day. If one negative thought could stop your destiny, no one’s life would move forward. We all have fears, confusions, doubts, worries, but we still receive blessings. What matters most is your heart and being a good person, stay humane.

And stay open, stay soft.

Keep your heart warm. Trust in the timing of your life.

All in its right time it will be, as rivers flow to sea. What’s yours will never pass you by.
