With this beautiful wild rose from our gardens, today I’ll guide you through an exploration of the path of your consciousness evolution and soul growth through each of the twelve Nodal axis. I’ve shared with you many times before on the importance of the North and South Nodes, what they mean through the lens of spiritual astrology and how to understand them more deeply through their lunar mansion and your unique chart, so if you don’t know what the Nodes are, you are welcome to refer back to my previous writings.
In short, the path from the South Node to our North Node is essentially the path of our evolution – what we have come here to develop further, to refine, and embody through our soul growth and inner development, if we choose to. This axis gives deep insights on your spiritual mission and destiny, as well as how to come into inner balance and harmony, so that you may experience yourself and your life in the way your soul desired.
There are certain things from past lives and early childhood experiences in this current life that we may be ready to release, such as outdated belief systems, and anything else that may have been limiting to us in our soul growth; and yet there are also gifts and talents we have that we may now use to be of service to others. This is the South Node. It is also a space within us that often gives us a sense of comfort and we may often withdraw into its mystical space to feel emotionally secure. Balancing the energy of our South Node is important because it gives us the strength of our spiritual core, and, hopefully, the foundations built of integrity and values.
And then comes the North Node – the pulling of our body and spirit, usually through the energies of desire or life’s destined moments, offering us an opportunity for a deepening and soul growth. These are things we need to consciously move towards and put in the effort towards, because it’s like wild unknown lands – where we haven’t developed yet as many skills. It’s our inner sculptor – it’s a path of apprenticeship, where we just learn, re-learn, and develop our sculptor along the way. It’s not about being perfect here – it’s about being open and willing enough to learn and evolve, with courage of soul, and the integrity, wisdom and foundation of our balanced South Node.
In our natal chart these Nodes will always be opposite one another – but they are part of the same axis. So it’s not about one versus the other, it is about balancing of both, and finding the union of harmony with spiritual and emotional maturity. In our higher divisional charts, you will often see these axis united, i.e. the North Node and South Node being conjunct in one sign, one house, perfectly. This shows you where in your life and on your path of your soul’s evolution you’ve achieved some karmic balance already, so you don’t have to focus too much on those areas, as things will happen more naturally and in their own time.
The union of the Nodes in some of the divisional charts happens because on a spiritual level, it is about the union – and the union is in the present moment, when the past meets the future in the present, and the two kiss, in understanding that only the present moment is the time of creation, and where time itself disappears.
This is yoga – that which joins. The dancer becomes the dance itself, the poet the poem, and the one kissing and being kissed becomes the kiss itself. Love becomes loving. Time only exists because of resistance; which is why in love you often feel moments of timelessness, because there is no fear, no resistance, only being and fully present in a moment where gratitude deepens and roots you.
So in the higher divisional charts, which are essentially the spiritual charts and more subtle vibrations of the natal chart, you will see the disappearance of “time”, the union of Nodes. Depending on where these conjunctions happen, in which chart, house and sign, this will give you insight on where you have achieved this union on your soul’s path.
Just like a rose, she is tangible and we may touch her; and yet it is the sweet fragrance that stays with us for long after we’ve unheld her. With this sweetness still moving our hands, we may touch others’ hands, bringing forth grace, tenderness, beauty, inspiration.
So life too for us is how we not only experience ourselves and what we create and make with our hands, but it is also about how we touch, how we move, and what fragrance we leave behind us for others. A body – a marriage between soul and flesh; and then love, desiring us to embody it and give it our hands, voice, eyes, movements. A continuous dance moving us, with an intention for self knowledge – to come into sweetest most natural scent, release this scent of our true essence, and make beauty along the way with the higher expression of energy.
In simple terms:
The North Node may give deep insights on your spiritual mission. Your North Node is that which seeks you to learn and grow from. It is the key to your soul’s future, not just now but for lives and experiences ahead.
The South Node shows what you may be ready to release karmically, and refine into deeper and more mature wisdom for balance to happen.
There are many ways in which we analyze the axis of the North Node and South Node. We look at aspects, signs and house placements, and we also look at the constellations and nakshatra of each Node, as these are the lunar mansions and doorways of deeper insight. Nodal analysis often requires a whole reading in itself, because of its multi layers; and for those seeking to step onto their dharmic paths and align to their inner essence and soul’s purpose, this axis is very important to understand; it gives you the key for your spiritual development.
After you are familiar with it, you may also look for insight on your divisional charts, and where in your life you may have already achieved the Nodal unions. I’ve spoken in depth before about the Nodal unions, for those of you interested.

Aries North Node and Libra South Node:
You may have relied too much on relationships and entanglements as part of your identity and self worth. Now you need to balance yourself in inner harmony, while not falling into selfishness. Your dharma is to initiate and act from courage and integrity, without losing harmony in relationships. You are here to release unhealthy attachments and co-dependence.
Taurus North Node and Scorpio South Node:
Your past may have involved trauma, power struggles, intense passions and attachments to lower urges. Your soul now seeks peace and serenity, connection to nature, and finding inner stability. Stay away from drama and control dynamics. Regulate your passion, and move past your lower urges.
Gemini North Node and Sagittarius South Node:
A Gemini North Node gives powerful free will, so use it wisely for yourself. You’ve lived through dogmas, whether people’s minds and perceptions, rigid belief systems, or feeling limited in relationships because the partner was rigid in their views. Your soul seeks freedom – freedom of expression, of creation, of your voice. You are here to walk the beat of your own drum and live your truth regardless of what other people think, or societal expectations. You pave the path of truth walkers, and have deep wells of wisdom and spiritual knowledge from past lives that you may now share with others. You are here to express your unique talent of translating the mystical, the wisdom and higher knowledge into a language more accessible for people to absorb and understand.
Cancer North Node and Capricorn South Node:
You may have defined yourself strongly by ambitions, success, and creating things for the public, at the expense of your emotional truth, and mainly, there may have been a lot of emotional suppression, which makes it now difficult for you to move past your version of status and success and build fulfilling and truthful relationships. This life invites you to heal emotional suppression and deep old traumas and emotional karmas. You are now here for a possibility to heal and purify this heavy karma through emotional honesty. Stay open, gentle, compassionate with yourself, connect to your feelings and vulnerability, and act of emotional truth. Don’t overfocus on success, status and material achievements or need for recognition, and choose relationships only based on emotional connection and your inner truth, rather than status or how it “looks” or how you want to be perceived by others.
Leo North Node and Aquarius South Node:
You may carry karmic threads of being too rebellion or resistance to structures. There may be some fixed beliefs you may need to let go of, and open to other perspectives. You may need to accept that opposites are a part of life, both within yourself and in others. You are now learning to balance freedom with groundedness, maturity and responsibility. Your dharma is to transcend the ego in order to unite with the universal consciousness.
Virgo North Node and Pisces South Node:
You are releasing victimhood, confusion and spiritual bypassing. You are here to learn grounded wisdom, see reality, and anchor your faith in reality rather than fantasy. As you unite within yourself both faith and surrender with the logical and rational, you understand that even karmic “irrational” things will continue to happen over and over again until you surrender to the divine order and universal law of karmic balance.
Libra North Node and Aries South Node:
You are healing from past lives of selfishness, impulsivity and domination. You are now here to learn interdependence, and how to give not just take. You are meant to learn about balance, and create peace through relationships. A relationship is a lover’s land of mutual support, understanding and listening, rather than a battlefield of egos. Focus on remaining kind and diplomatic, walk a kindness and patience of rhythm. You will find yourself when you create healthy relationships.
Scorpio North Node and Taurus South Node:
Your past lives may have been defined by attachments to the material, and being too fixated on control. Now you walk a path of learning surrender, inner alchemy and transformation, and choosing love over possession; learning love is not a thing to control nor possess, and not making decisions based on fear. Love while giving freedom to the other person. Through the art of surrender you will feel peace and find happiness.
Sagittarius North Node and Gemini South Node:
You are letting go of scattered thoughts and scattered thinking, of gossiping and restlessness. You are now meant to be seeking a higher perspective and walk a more mature and philosophical life, because your soul now seeks higher meaning, purpose, and wisdom. Your dharma is to live a life which reflects your deeper truth, and live it not just in your mind, but in your actual real every day with real actions and wise choices. You are meant to learn wisdom and develop maturity.
Capricorn North Node and Cancer South Node:
With this South Node you may carry heavier emotional karma and ancestral wounds. You are now invited to build more emotional honesty, empathy, compassion and a sense of stable happiness, all of which must be based on inner stability and inner knowledge. Your real fulfillment may only come through building emotional stability, and your actions must be aligned to honesty, self accountability and integrity.
Aquarius North Node and Leo South Node:
You may be healing from pride and your need for validation and adoration. Now you are meant to build true self esteem and confidence, that isn’t based on wanting to receive admiration from others, but rather, based only on your inner truth and honesty. This life invites you to release your ego, and embrace your unique place within the collective and community. Your dharmic path is only through your unique self expression, originality, innovation, freedom and evolving your own awareness. There is a need to learn how to balance both changes and freedom while also honouring some kind of structure or system.
Pisces North Node and Virgo South Node:
You are learning not to live in anxiety, stress, over-analyzing, scepticism, rigidity or perfectionism. Your path now in this life invites you to fall into deeper trust and surrender, and not always needing to know or have all the answers, as well as release judgments and criticisms. You need to awaken yourself through faith, and the art of surrender; while releasing your need for control, including additions, escapism, spiritual bypassing and delusions. In many ways, you are here to discover that the real magic of life is in faith. Let go of scepticism, move into the mystical. Creativity may serve you on this path, because it may allow you to surrender and just trust the process unfolding, how art, as well as life, shapes and forms on the blank canvases.
