I’ve written in depth before about the importance of our natal Moon, how she is the lineage of our soul, and represents our human soul in this life; how she holds insights about our past lives, deeper karmic imprints as well as gifts and talents. Today, I’ll share with you a deeper esoteric insight about our natal Moon – and it is that essentially, she is the heaven, or world, we live in. She is what we may have built for ourselves in this life based on past lives, but she is also that which we can build anew to live in right now and moving forward.
Some astrologers will speak to you about how the natal Moon is our mind, our karmic imprints and the kind of “trap” from our past lives; and while it is true that there is deep psychology and karmic patterns within our Moon, this isn’t necessarily a trap, because you are able to change it and shift it now. This is precisely the gift of this life: to live more consciously and co-create a new, rather than staying within the boundaries of lines and charts based on the past, re-living and re-playing the same scripts.
Our Moon is our beliefs, and our beliefs create our heaven we live in – our experience right now. So by changing and shifting our beliefs, we also change our heaven we live in and the path of our soul and the future womb we’ll be in. So if we begin to live in more gratitude, this becomes our heaven; if we believe that everything in life is essentially to help us evolve, this will be our heaven.
Within our Moon free will still moves. Free will is essentially our divine gift, a divine grace, gifting us with the ability to consciously choose to live our life in more conscious ways. The 3rd house of our chart speaks of free will – and there we see how free will is in direct correlation to self awareness, so the more self aware we are, the more able we’ll be to use our free will more consciously. It is also a house of creation, self efforts, our skills, gifts and talents, our courage and dedication, and essentially, it is about craftsmanship. In this house is also our mind. So we need to become co-creators, and the point of creation is right now.
Let’s understand this a bit deeper, and I’ll then give you some guidance on how to change and shift and live in your new heaven.
The Moon is our womb within which we are born, she is our heart, and our heart is the home of the soul; our heart is also the initiatory pathway to higher consciousness, which shows the connection between spiritual evolution and our relationship to our Moon. Our Moon also shows the lineage of our soul and is connected to past lives, our connection to our mother and what matters most deeply to us, our belief system and emotional world. And it is precisely our beliefs that shape our heaven.
When we live in gratitude of our life, and try to find the joy and purpose of our experiences, we develop our belief system in more harmonious ways, and then, this belief system of our life develops the heaven, which is the womb of our mother and then our experiences with her also when we are born.
It is believed that at the end of life you reflect on the question what life was, what did it feel like, what was your experience – and depending on that, and your inner beliefs about life’s experiences, this becomes your heaven, and energetically you are then able to move into this heaven, which is your mother’s womb; and your relationship to your mother will be a reflection of this heaven you built for yourself from past lives.
Just as your mother is a reflection of your heaven, you too are a heaven for someone. Whether this spirit child is born yet, or not, you are someone’s heaven, and it is important to take care of yourself.
Since the future mother is responsible for the pre-natal period of a child’s life, and represents the heaven for the soul, it is very important that she nurtures harmonious feelings within herself before and after childbirth, and even as soon as she receives the desire to conceive, no matter whether this may have happened many years prior to becoming pregnant. As soon as you receive the desire for a child, you need to be mindful that you are now its heaven.
It is important for women, whether pregnant or desiring to be pregnant, to be supported and live in more peace, calmness and harmony, as she can also help the soul’s beliefs; and the first three and half years of the child’s birth are very important also. While we can’t necessarily help another soul with its inner work, we can try to give it as much nourishing and a better heaven as we can.
Your relationship to your mother and early nurturing gives you insights on your own past life beliefs also. As you heal your relationship to your parents, you send a healing wave across all timelines, and are basically creating a better future, as well as healing the lineage also and future generations. Forgiveness is key. The 4th house is the house ruled by the Moon, and this is the key to your happiness. If you seek to feel fulfillment in your life, you need to look at your 4th house and balance it out through more love, compassion, peace, gratitude and forgiveness, as well as spiritual development.
The Moon, who symbolizes the mother in astrology, is essentially the heaven and aura of the child; so for each of us, our mother and our experience with nurturing and our inner feminine are also our understanding of heaven. There is sacredness we need to respect and honour here, and regardless of what your relationship to her or the feminine is, you need to come into humbleness that she is the heaven you have built yourself through your beliefs and level of gratitude from past lives. If you desire a better heaven, you need to expand in your heart awareness; this is why the saying is that heaven is within, and Christ points to the heart. The Moon is our heart in spiritual astrology, it is all that is deepest most sacred to us, our deepest beliefs, our church within.
So how can you create your new heaven?
All begins from within, so firstly, you need to reflect upon and understand your current beliefs. Often times, to understand someone’s beliefs we may witness their actions, and this shows what their actual beliefs are; so you may observe and reflect upon your own actions and take it from there.
Naturally, you may of course look at your natal Moon, the aspects she receives, and constellation and house within which she resides for you. This is the power of astrology, because it gives you insights into what is and what was, and from that understanding you may create anew. Your natal chart doesn’t define you, nor trap you, as the higher purpose is to move beyond it, move beyond the boundaries of the past, conditioned beliefs and limited understanding. Some things will be happening as they happen, it is part of the river of the life and the waters you may have already poured into it from the past; but you can also pour new waters now, and when conscious and aligned to your dharma, rivers move smoother and are clearer.
Once you are honest with yourself on what your beliefs are, you may now spend time each day, even if only for an hour, to live in your new heaven. What does it feel like, what does it look like, what does it believe? What happens when there are misunderstandings, who enters it, what are the values there, what are the stories, music, songs? How can you shift certain perspectives, where can you learn more and expand? What can you reflect upon to have a better day tomorrow?
As part of our new heaven some things will need to be let go of. This includes not just situations, beliefs or even old possessions or clothes or furniture, this also means versions of ourselves. This may sound but it isn’t – because at some point in time, a version of you held you, protected you, and even if it is not no longer needed, it once was perhaps the only thing that held and supported you through difficulty. It is difficult to let go of these parts of ourselves, and it doesn’t mean we need to erase them, it just means to gently unhold their hands, thank them for their support and protection, and let them know that if again need them we’ll reach out for them.
Some of your heaven will be built in very physical or visual ways. Perhaps you can spend time each day in beautifying your home, looking at beautiful things, listening to beautiful things, cleaning your home and caring for what you already have. Nurturing means “to tend to what already is”. So some of your new heaven will need very material and physical ways to enter your mind and expand you from within.
Yet it’s not just a visualization exercise; it is about living into it through your actions, movements, and how your choices and responses align to your new belief system. Investing continuous amounts of effort, and aligning yourself and your actions to a value system are part of this path. If you say how you desire open mindedness, are you too open minded with perspectives from others that may challenge yours. If you desire more generosity, how generous are you with others. Everything you wish to receive, you must give to others first.
In recognizing the power of reflection and mirrors through other people, you may begin to use experiences as opportunities for deepening and self knowledge. Some people or situations may reflect to you what you no longer are, because as part of knowing who we are we often need to know what we are not. In the way we respond to situations we come closer to seeing who we are and whom we wish to be.
And then there are the doorways. Each day we open doors to emotions through songs, visuals, memories, objects, a necklace, a ring. All these are doors we open and when we open them we feel things, as if it’s happening right now. It serves as batteries to our energy, or draining our energy. So when we know what inspires within us certain feelings, and how to change our perspectives on something, we create our heaven we live in. Be mindful of which doors you choose and decide to open each day.
In your new heaven you may ask: What does love feel like, move like, look like in your heaven? How are you able to care for yourself, and for your loved ones and family? How do you nurture and nourish in your life?
As women, our bodies speak the language of the Moon – we wax and wane, and emotions too ebb and flow, we grow through cycles, phases and seasons. Listening to our bodies is so important – and learning to listen to our bodies and learning the unique language of our body, tuning into our natural body rhythm, natural flow and how our emotions too speak to us are some of the greatest gifts we may give ourselves. Taking care of our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing is important. It is also important to be mindful that the best way we can care for others is when we care for ourselves also.
Clarity of mind, purity of heart, dedication and continuous amounts of effort are often needed when we work with our heavens. Self awareness of course is the key. This is what opens all doors to new extensions of our world. As our Moon is related to our spiritual potential, it is important to nurture this part of ourselves, our maternal lineage and relationship to our mother, and towards our own inner mother and nurturing and ability to love – because this is what allows us expansion and spiritual growth.
Remembering that we are co-creators is a beautiful gift we may gift ourselves. Of the self knowledge of our current inner world, we may then make the conscious choices to create our new worlds we would like to live in and experience ourselves through. Like a painting, we may create various aspects of this world – the climate, the landscapes, the atmosphere in which we could breathe, dance, reign and recreate ourselves further.
It’s a work of art, just like love is art, life is art. Every artist understands that the world they create may be a subjective one, a subjective creation, and that as such, there are choices to be made each day along the way and a selection of elements, nuances and temperatures. And yet every artist always also knows, that it is an art, a materialization, a kind of incarnation of his inner world.
As we shift within, and shift our own perspectives, and expand our perspectives, our inner world too expands of which we may create and live in more expansive ways; and perhaps most importantly, through this expansive shifts, we deepen into our ability to see with the eye behind the eye, seeing the creative potential, power and love, that all live and move within each present moment.
