What we encounter, recognize or discover depends largely on the quality of our approach. When we approach with reverence, beautiful great things decide to approach us and reveal their wisdom and beauty to us. In many ways, our real life and the mysticism and magic that it is, decide to come to the surface, and such light awakens all concealed beauty that we once couldn’t perhaps see as clearly.
When we approach with kindness, compassion, humility and reverence, beauty trusts us and reveals itself to us; wisdom reveals, and a bridge of love is revealed to us. This allows us an opportunity for a deepening.
When we walk and move and speak with reverence, beauty trusts us. Rushed minds and gestures, arrogance and selfishness lack the gentleness and patience that are needed to enter the embrace the that beauty is. It’s about appreciation for what has been given and offered, and an openness, to what more can be experienced, if you choose to engage and open your own hands also, with compassion, support, generosity, giving of yourself as well.
Patience opens the soul of matter; patience is the mark of truest love. And when we open to the world like a flower, we marry all the invisible strings and finally see how spirit is imbued in everything. Soul-sized is the land of our hearts, and that’s the land that truly matters.
Often as humanity we approach things with greed and urgency because we don’t like to wait and we seek the instant gratifications, only to then realize we miss the heart of things and we rob ourselves of the actual pleasure of life and all things. We live in a consumerist world, where people constantly take, take, take, and forget to realize the universal laws of equivalent exchange of energy.
There seems to be so much entitlement and ingratitude lately, and it is of no wonder that because of this, we live in a desert of spiritual poverty. Such ways of approach towards life, nature and towards other people, such as ingratitude, entitlement, disrespect, selfishness, rudeness and greed, will never lead anywhere good, and essentially you will be keeping yourself stuck in a world not fulfilling you.
Whatever you wish to receive, you must give of yourself to others first. If you seek generosity, are you generous towards others; do you support those from whom you’ve learned something new, do you choose to nourish their inner fires and encourage them and support them. If you seek water – emotional fulfillment, nurturing, love, connection – do you only take water for yourself from others, or do you give water to others, do you pour of your compassion and listening to them. Because if you take water only for yourself, without giving back, eventually lands will all dry, and you too will live in a desert. This life is one of interconnection, and interdependence, and the humility of this deserves to be treasured.
When we approach life with deep appreciation and patience, beauty and love approach us. This is more than a mindset – reverence shapeshifts into an almost physical state; it becomes an attention of the body, when we are fully embodied and present, all of our senses opened and deeply connected, and we are shown that the sacredness is already here.
Reverence, like patience, are the soul companions of humility. Because we recognize that we are always in the presence of the sacred – that the divine flows through our body and that it is in everything.
And then there’s love. A movement. A shaping. Love has various shapes and forms, different speeds and movements.
Compassion, tenderness, joy, forgiveness, and openness, are all just different shapes of love, different movements of love, different speeds of love. When we express them through our actions, we become fully embodied in love, rather than only ideas and thoughts about love, like clouds flowing the sky. We have to be able to build love, contain love and emit love.
Beauty awaits you. May you see it, recognize, treasure it.
